The Remote Learning Group (RLG) regards the management of health, safety and welfare associated with all the RLG’s activities to be a matter of foremost importance. It is the RLG’s commitment to comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, the Work Place (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and all other UK relevant statutory health, safety and welfare requirements. All reasonable practicable measures are taken to identify and manage all risks associated with the RLG’s activities to secure the health, safety and welfare of RLG’s members of staff, subcontractors, students, visitors and any other individuals who may be affected by our services and/or activities.
The RLG will specifically, so far as is reasonably practicable:
- Maintain all virtual teaching, learning and working environments in a safe condition and without risk to the health, safety and welfare of RLG’s members of staff, subcontractors, students and visitors.
- Undertake Risk Assessments for all virtual teaching, learning and working environments and activities.
- Maintain all virtual teaching, learning, working environments and equipment in a safe condition.
- Establish and maintain safe working procedures across all virtual teaching, learning, working environments.
- Provide adequate information, instruction, training and supervision as necessary to ensure that RLG’s members of staff, subcontractors, students and visitors are competent to undertake their remote work or learning activities; that they are aware of related hazards and the measures to take to protect against them.
- Provide and maintain the necessary organisation, expertise, planning, monitoring and auditing systems and procedures to ensure there is effective management of health, safety and welfare throughout the RLG.
- Ensure that emergency procedures are established, understood and followed by RLG’s members of staff, subcontractors, students and visitors, if and when required.
